For the first question, I am sorry that we only have pre-drilled holes for the brackets and the controller. This is because that our desktops are applicable for all of our standing desk models. If we pre-drill every hole, there would be too much holes on the desktop.
For the second question, sure, you can mount the controller on either side you want.
